Written by our dear resident lama and chant master, Ven. Lama Thubten Nima. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to engage in Yamantaka practice.
In this book, the essential points of the protection and repelling practice of Manjushri Yamantaka are explained, including the creation and completion stages, the preparation of tormas, the arrangement of the shrine, the views of the different classes of tantra and tenet systems, the correct manner in which to engage in the practice, and so on.
In the tantras, it is said that during the present age of decline it is quite difficult to accomplish any other yidam. During these times, the blessings of Manjushri Yamantaka, a wrathful manifestation of Manjushri, are therefore extremely powerful.
In the current age of decline the afflictions of sentient beings are exceedingly dense, and peaceful deities are unable to tame them. In response, wrathful deities manifest impelled by great compassion to act for their benefit. Afflictions originate from ignorance and especially during these times, Manjushri Yamantaka's powers to clear away the dark fog of ignorance are immense. The wisdom mind of such a deity is a union of great wisdom and compassion.
Another special aspect of this deity is his ability to dispel obstacles. Unfavorable circumstances are repelled, and one will be protected from falling under their sway. Moreover, the Drubchen practice of Manjushri Yamantaka has great powers to act for the peace and welfare of the entire world.
