Garchen Rinpoche
Spiralbound, 88 pages, Single-spaced
This is a spiral-bound transcript of Garchen Rinpoche's teaching on Chod in Rochester, NY, 1999.
Chod is an advanced practice of cutting through ego-clinging and self-grasping through tremendous generosity. The actual ritual is usually accompanied by bells, drums, trumpets, and melodies. The yogis of traditional Tibet would seek out terrifying places, such as a charnel ground, in order to cut through their thick mental habits of fear and grasping. The real Chod, however, is the cultivation of love and compassion.
