The man who first brought Buddhism to Tibet is the illustrious Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, or the Lotus Born. A dynamic figure throughout this tradition, he is known as both a historical person and a spiritual presence very much alive in the minds of practitioners today.

He is loved for his special abilities to remove obstacles to practice and Dharma activities, as well as his blessings to deepen meditation. He is known as having said that "for those who have faith in Padmasambhava, a Padmasambhava sleeps in their doorway."

His mantra is OM AH HUNG VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUNG
