Chethak Ruchen School

The Venerable Traga Rinpoche has started the School Chethak Ruchen in an effort to benefit local nomadic families and orphans.
Request from Traga Rinpoche:
"We have constructed two narrow buildings with one class room each. We are able to pay for one teacher and the school is now educating 39 children. We would like to educate 100 students and we need three teachers at $100 USD per teacher a month.
Some of the children are orphans and may come from a long distance. Our students will need a cook, and a nurse or doctor. I would like to build a library. The children also need furnishings - tables, chairs and supplies. Our school needs a new bathroom and electricity. I would be very grateful to any kind person who is able to extend financial support. Your money will be used in a meaningful way to benefit many poor and forgotten children and families of Tibet.

All of the construction for the bathroom, kitchen and wall will start in the spring of 2006!

Instruction currently focuses on literacy in the childrens native language, Tibetan. Longer term educational goals include instruction in Chinese and English. Meeting even these modest goals will go a long way toward enabling these young nomadic Tibetans to become economically self-sufficient and socially stable.
